Beak – An innovative Mac only twitter client

BeakWith no shortage of available twitter clients, its nice to see something new and innovative come to the market. Whats right for someone isn’t always right for everyone else so it pays to be constantly checking out new clients. Today we are going to give you a little peak at the up coming Beak twitter client developed by Mike Rundle.

Beak [UB][10.5] has many exciting and useful features. I’ll try and give you a good idea of what they are in this post. If you want to learn about every little feature beaks offers I really suggest you give it a try for yourself. Download Beak Here.

At launch Beak will ask you for your user name and password. After successfully logging in, Beak brings up the “Tweets” tab which displays all of your followers tweets. The top of Beak is dedicated to 6 different functions. “Tweets” “Mentions” “Messages” “Faves” “Search” and “Stats”.

        • From the “Tweets” tab you can reply, retweet, and favorite other tweets. Hitting the reply button causes beak to drop down a window in which you can reply.
        • The “Mentions” tab of course displays other tweets which mention your Twitter name.
        • The “Messages” tab allows you to view your direct messages. (Composing of direct messages and new tweets is done using two buttons on the bottom of Beak)
        • The “Faves” tab allows you to view messages which you have starred or fave’d.
        • The “Search” tab allows you to search twitter.
        • The “Stats” tab tracks URL Click-Through stats

The bottom of Beak has two different buttons. One for creating a new tweet, and one for sending a direct message.

You can follow the progress of Beak by following @mike9r on Twitter.

Beak is still a development preview, not a final release.
