Path Finder 5: Another must have Mac app

If you’re like me and you spend countless hours working on your Mac everyday, Path Finder 5 can speed things up quite a bit. Path Finder takes the Finder’s familiar interface and adds numerous powerful features and interface innovations to help anyone be more productive on Mac OS X.

I have been using the demo for five days now and I’m afraid I am going to end up $40 poorer. The $40 price tag is kinda steep, but it taps into much of the unused power of OS X and can really increase productivity. Not to mention saving you lots of frustrating time spent hassling with the basic finder. It has too many features to list them all, but here are my favorites:

  • Tabbed folder and file browsing
  • Bookmark Bar (Finder does kinda support bookmarks)
  • Integrated Stuffit Engine
  • Instant creation of .dmg disk images

So, even if your not down with the $40 price tag, I suggest you give it a try anyways. Just so you can see what is possible.

Safari vs Firefox

Since the release of Firefox I have always had trouble settling with one browser. I will use Safari for 6 months and then I will switch back to Firefox. I have been using both browsers for over three years now. The one thing I have found? They both work much better then IE. All joking aside, Safari does a god job of holding it’s own against Firefox. Safari gets 100% on the ACID 3 test whereas FF3 Get 93%. Pretty close. They both have their strengths and weakness.

If you are looking for a good review I strongly suggest you check out this article from daringfireball.net:
