Top 5 Must Have Adobe Air Apps!

Posted in Apple | Software/Freeware | Tips 1

I have always been a big fan of the Adobe Air platform. It’s cross platform coding and wide variety of apps makes it very appealing. I have begun using Adobe Air everyday. Mainly because many of the apps out there are so darn useful, from keeping track of my tweets to designing my websites. Here are my top 5 most useful Adobe Air Apps.

TweetDeck: TweetDeck is a powerful and unique twitter client. If you are following alot of busy tweeters, you are definitely going to what to give it a try. It manages your tweets by breaking them up into categories. The first thing this allows you to do is reply to your tweets much more efficiently. It also allows you to keep better track of previous things said. Up to 48 hours of previous tweeting.

AlertThingy: AlertThingy is in essence, a multi-functional RSS reader. It does it in a very easy to understand way. You have the option of following twitter accounts, flicker accounts, and your friendfeed account.

Pixus: Countless hours on Photoshop make me wish I had known about this one earlier. Pixus is an elegant Pixel ruler. It’s simple and elegant design are easy to like. The sophisticated drag and measure form make using it a snap. Ideal for web content creators/designers.

GMDesk: GMDesk is the one Air app I have never stopped using. It’s ability to take Gmail out of the web browser for me is ideal. I like having my E-mail up at all times, But I don’t like leaving Firefox open all the time. GMDesk does a good job of allowing GMAIL it’s own environment to operate in. Must have for E-mail addicts.

Diggtop: Diggtop is a nifty little app that allows you to have all of the tops stories just a click away. You can also set up keyword and Digg count filters that will notify you with a sound and icon when new stories match your criteria.

The Pownce application from Pownce.com makes the honorable mentions list. If you have a pownce accnt. it really helps you stay on top of the action. This way you don’t always have to be at pownce.com do interact.

So there you have it. Adobe can produce something usable and creative for under $899
