Apple supported Blu-Ray drives!
MCE Tech. LLC Brings Blu-Ray recording to OS X. The 6x Blu-Ray drive is available immediately. However the
$499 price tag is kind of a turn off. However, I must mention that it also does HD DVD. Unlike previous drives, it is natively recordable with Mac OS X 10.5.2 or later and can record data directly from the Finder with no additional software required. This makes it an ideal solution for backing up mass amount of media without any hassle. There are however a few drawbacks. There is still no way to watch Blu-Ray movies on your mac without using bootcamp. It also lacks the SATA port and instead uses and EIDE/ATA. All in all though, it’s an ok solution if your looking to author Blu-Ray movies or archive a bunch of media.
