Rock Band for the PS3

Games 0 No Comments

As you read this It’s a Sunday night in the boring town of Willmar, MN. The sun is just going down and the smell of freshly cut grass is filling the air. Then.. seemingly out of nowhere.. “Hey ho, lets go hey ho, lets go hey ho, lets go hey ho, lets go!” These four words bring up my first part of the review: the songs. 59 songs by well known artists ranging from The Who to Flyleaf. Other artists and songs include, but not limited to, Blitzkrieg Bop by the Ramones, (Don’t fear) the Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult, Should I Stay or Should I Go by The Clash and many other classics. Also, don’t forget there are other songs and even albums available for download from the Playstation store! Read More

Keeping your mac in good health

Apple 0 No Comments

As the days and weeks go by your Mac is ever so slowly building up bigger and bigger caches and accumulating more and more junk inside of it. It takes awhile but if your a heavy user and dont restart often it can really add up. I usually clean up my Mac at least once a month. It’s nothing serious but it helps keep my Mac in tip top shape.

  • The first thing I recommend doing is checking and seeing how many programs are trying to launch at startup. (System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items) Here you can choose which apps launch at start up.
  • The next one has saved my computer from a multitude of problems I have inflicted on it from trying to do stuff I really don’t know who to. Reparing permission does wonders for your computer. It will help with both speed and over stability. You can repair your permission by going to Disk Utilities which is located in the Utilities folder.
  • If your computer is running low on memory keeping your desktop clutter free will probably free up a little bit. I usually only have 4-6 icons on my desktop at any given time.

Hope it helps and remember to check back daily for more hints and tips from Appleaddiction.net

OS X 10.6 getting ZFS Support?

Uncategorized 0 No Comments

Yes ZFS will finally be making it’s debut in OS X Snow Leopard. Multiple source and Apple themselves have confirmed that OS X 10.6 will finally have support for the high performance file system. As of now it has only been confirmed for the server client but I would expect to see it in both releases.

Digital VHS

I bet you didn’t know VHS could do 720p and 1080i. Yep, HD VHS tapes are actually real. Although the tapes were introduced in 1998 they didn’t really take off until, Ok wait, they never took off. But anyways in 2002 prerecorded D-VHS cassettes were sold under the brand name D-Theater. While D-Theater is a D-VHS tape, it is incompatible with D-VHS decks without the D-Theater logo. They provide content in both 720p and 1080i as well as at least one Dolby Digital audio track. Supported movies studios include 20th Century Fox, Artisan Entertainment, DreamWorks, and Universal Pictures. D-Theater provides much better audio and video quality than previous formats (VHS and DVD), but has since been displaced by newer formats such as Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD. I honestly think it was a pretty cool idea. If your looking for more info on HD VHS tapes you can find it Here.

That’s why I feel any possible improvement to the program is good news for me. So let me introduce you to one of my new additions to iTunes. The Whitecap Visualizer.

“WhiteCap is designed to be extremely dynamic and musically reactive, with a unique look and feel that is bold, yet sleek and sophisticated. WhiteCap is the ideal visual complement to your favorite live and pre-recorded music, creating irresistible “eye candy” that looks great in any environment.”

Its very custimizable via the included menu and features thousands of different effects. The ability to save your favorite settings is a real plus. There is nothing wrong with the inlcuded iTunes visualizer, In fact, its one of the best out there but Whitecap is a nice addition to your visualizer library.
